The Last Class With Madam Baiti.

       The last Profinciency English class with Madam Baiti, is on 27/11/2012 one week before we are start our final exam. I have learn a lot of thing in this class, teamwork, assignment  task and also test. most important thing I learn in this class is just not about assignment but also how to improve our self as human being, how to communicate well in English. there are many thing i want to upload in this blog, but because of certain thing, I cannot pot it; I'm being too busy thing semester. some time I want to post what I have learn in class but madam take the paper and I forget what I suppose to update. sorry for the late update. I have learn the simple thing I forgot such as pronoun, what is pronoun ?  example of pronoun is I, They, she, you and it.

      graph, tenses and also vocab, we have learn this since we are in school day. But in this proficiency English class we learn it again to recap and recall what we have learn to memorize it well. forget to mention the format of report we learn it again and again. it just good to learn the same thing again for us to memorize it well. hopefully when the exam time come we can answer the question well. AMIN.

Dumb Ways To Die.

There are so many ways to die right? Maybe there are the smart ways to die and the dumbest ways to die is that true? For my post for today Madam Baiti ask us to critic nor preview the MV at youtube and the title is Dumb ways To die. Have you watch this video? What came across your mind when your saw this video? Suddenly when I watch this video I remember about happy three friend cartoon, they are so cute but very gore for the kids. The lyric are very catchy and easy to sing because it repeats the same chorus (dumb ways to die so many dumb ways to die). Even the lyric struck in my mind once I already hear this song. The main focus of the video is about awareness campaign kid’s safety on train. But in my point of view the title is not suitable for kids to learn.

The focus of the video is about awareness campaign on the train but, the contain of the video has cover the whole thing how simple thing can make we dead. the video lyric has make us to think how simple thing can make we die, like we are dig our own graveyard. there are certain word that a not good for kids example use your private parts as piranha bait. the word private parts is not suitable for kids to learn. don't do stupid thing that can cause you die example; teach yourself how to fly. the other message is do not invite death we can take from the video lyric;get your toast out with a fork, invite a pyscho killer inside and dress up like moose during hunting season. 

if i were the producer for the video i will name the video title do not find way to die. 

three good thing about this video is :

• it make us think about the implied message
• the catchy lyric is suitable for everyone to learn.
• the video is attract people to view and view it for many time

three bad thing about this video is:

• the visual of cartoon is frighten and formidable in cute way for kids
• the lyric; Dumb ways To die . (Dumb is not a good word to say)
• there are no bad thing about this video. because it it cute. :)

Social Media (Current Issue) *

I bet many of us have their own social media account right? What is social media? There are so many types of social media nowadays such as Facebook, Blogger, Wordpress, M Face, Friendster, MySpace and Twitter. Currently twitter is the most famous social media among the teenager nowadays. Because it is easy to tweet in anywhere and anytime, you just have to, have a smart phone that are connected to internet then you will always connected to twitter. Twitter is also known as micro blog because people using it to share they point of view in certain issue.

To me Twitter has its own benefit and vice versa. Because by using Twitter it keeps people connected and know about current issue, maybe about politics, artist and also news. But today when I open my twitter I has to read the post about, someone are post about something bad and other start to bashing the tweet and ReTweet the post it has make a simple thing become worse. 

My post today is about current issue which is; people are starting using this kind of media to make a small issue become a big issue. For example some people are Tweet about negative thing about Malaysia and Islam. I admit that when I read the post that are made by certain people who doesn’t have common sense and just write what in their mind without thinking what will the circumstance be if they write about the sensitive issue, me myself, I do have a angry feeling. But as a human being we shouldn’t just bashing the person without give them the chance to explanation, why they tweet about something like that in twitter, we have to put our self in their shoe.

By ReTweet and Bashing the tweet it has show that we as teenager doesn’t have a good morale value and polite as a human being. Why should we make a simple thing become worse? Maybe we can give advice to the person to stop Tweet about something is sensitive rather than Bashing the tweet. Don’t forget we are Malaysian and as Malaysian we have to hold our five principle of Rukun Negara. The number five is the most important in shaping our behavior which is KESOPANAN DAN KESUSILAAN. Remember as a Malaysian whatever happens always sticks to our Principle of Rukun Negara.

the conclusion is internet such as social media does bring a good and vice versa benefit to us according to how we use it. think before you act in social media don't make you regret with what you post later on. 

Himizu (Movie preview)

The story is about the family that having a very serious problem in their live, I think the situation has made almost everyone in this story got very serious mental problem. Majority of them are going crazy and make them will doing anything just to out of the situation they are facing. Sumida the main character is high school student, 14 years old. As the main character he facing with a lot challenges in his life, he just want to be normal like other child at his age.  Living in poverty and homeless has made a lot of depression in his life. He only lives on a boat house instead of the real house.

His father is not a good and responsible father, his always asking for money from his own son. He even wants to kill his own son just to get the insurance money. To his father point of view his life would be much better if Sumida died. Sumida father is a drinker and a gambler; he even has a debt to loan shark. Then he left the house and has made Sumida have to face with the loan shark. Sumida mother also has leave the house and just leave a piece of note and tell her son to live happily, to my point of view it just not make a sense for a mother has leave her son and told him to be happy. The main character parents are not responsible and not carry their duty as parents.

Keito Chazawa, is the stalker to Sumida, her adore Sumida and obsess to Sumida so much. She got a really psycho way of showing her love to Sumida. Even her family is also having mental problem they, have built hanging rope for they daughter to commit suicide. The side character in this story is the people that are homeless because of tsunami and stay on Sumida land based on Sumida kindness. This story is about a real life the people in Japan have to face after tsunami, they had a really difficult time. At the climax of the story Sumida have kill his own father and made his life miserable. He then got mental problem don’t know how to decide in his life and thought that his life has end here.

What is the ending of the story? You have to watch it to know what the ending is. Can Sumida lead his life normal like other teenagers or he have to stay in the jail for the rest of his life for what he did? Or will the loan shark kill he because didn’t manage to pay for his father debt. And what will happen to his stalker Chazawa, will she commit suicide? What going to happen to the people who stay in Sumida house, will they being homeless again? To answer this question you have to watch this movie. For this movie I give 4 stars out of 5 stars. It is a must watch movie, to see other people life what are they facing in they life. 

Our Test for proficiency Class.

         Suppose to be we have class as usual at Tuesday at 5 pm same place which is BK 29. But, we request to madam Baiti to cancel it because we have event on that day which is 30 Oct 2012 the forum about maturity/Social media. so Madam want us to replace it on Saturday on 9 am. at 1.30 pm Madam want to hold a test, it is our midterm for this subject. i couldn't remember much about the question paper Madam give to us but there are one question based on paragraph about Justin Bieber. the question, it ask what is debut mean, luckily i'm k-pop fan so i always hear this word. the word mean first public appearance on stage. i think i can get the right answer for that question :)

     the last section question is based on chart just like what we have learn in last class. i don't exactly how to describe the information on the paragraph carefully. when Madam Give our Midterm paper back, Madam Wrote on my last section answer "too long and make it compact" maybe because i don't write based on instruction. the instruction only ask to write about 150 to 180 word. it is my fault because don't read the instruction carefully. next time in my upcoming test i will read the instruction and follow what it instruct.

     

The Chart (Graph).

Today post I would like to talk about chart, because this is what I learn in previous class. I bet many of us already know what is chart. We have learned about chart since us in primary school. There are much type of chart for example pie chart, bar chart, line chart and area chart. But in previous class Madam Baiti give us a module of paper for us to study the paper and we have to make an exercise from the module. The module is about graph chart. We have to analysis the graph and make a report or article based on the graph. It is like study comprehension in school day. But, even though we already in university we still have to learn about it. Because this is Profienciency English class, so we have to learn grammar and all of those thingy back from the starting. We cannot say that if we already in university level our English level is already good enough for us; sometimes it is just good to learn from starting to improve our self.

There are many example of word to use when we are writing based on the information that is given from the graph itself. For example:

Step 1: UNDERSTANDING THE QUESTION

• ·         Study the stimulus and graphic aid

Step 2: BRAINSTORM/GATHER IDEAS

• ·         Jot down 3 main points quickly
• ·         Expand points

• ·         Number your points in logical sequence
• ·         Insert linkers or useful expressions
• ·         The introduction should describe what the graph shows
• ·         The conclusion should describe the important/broad trend shown

what is PR job??

What exactly does PR do? What is PR? Who are their? PR stands for Public Relation. They job is to manage other people life, what kind of manage does they do? Their usually manage an artist schedule. But in company their also have PR department in this situation PR will react as the middle person. In today class Madam Baiti ask us to act in our own course job. As for me I’m taking communication and media, there are many jobs in this field for example journalist, editor, gatekeeper, newscaster, and also PR. So as today we choose to act as PR to solve communication crisis. What is communication crisis? Communication crisis is where someone facing with problem that involve miscommunication.

In our situation that we choose today is, the artist is facing with her scandal gossip and need PR to solve her problem. In this situation her manager also acts as her PR to clear her customer image back. And the role are as below; Nana as the main character (the artist who face with her scandal story), Faza (the manager/ PR), Geogy (Host of the talk show) and me, Sharmine (the journalist). It a kind of funny when Madam Baiti give this task to us, just image we need to act in front our classmate, I’m so shy actually. When we are discussing about our story board I can image how we going to act, but when I’m in front of class suddenly I forget what I suppose to ask Nana, because me as journalist. Now I know acting is not an easy job to do.

Our story lines start when nana is having an affair with a famous celebrity.  The gossip and the picture of them are being intimate is spread in the internet. Because Nana scandal is someone else husband so she have to face with all negative view that society give to her. To clear her name back Nana hired Faza as her manager and PR to make a press conference to apologize in what she had done.  Also to clear her name back Nana had to done a volunteer job, based on Faza advise. To make, the society have a good impression toward her back as public figures. Actually PR is one of the tough job or career because we need to have a strong mind and emotional to face with other people behavior.

      Today class is another best and enjoy class day, because Madam introduces us to modals. What is a modal? Madam asks, some of us say that it got to do with money. Because in Malay modals referring to our budget. But in this case modal is not budgeting; it is something that got to do with word element.

• ·         Certainty à might/ may/must

      Madam has made it clear to us what is a modals. Then this word got their degree of uses. From the top is the higher (strong meaning) and the less bottom is (not strong meaning I think) this is example of the degree that Madam had drawn and I copy it.

Then today we got to fill the blank in It Will Rain by Bruno Mars. As usual we will Google the Lyric when we don’t know it; this is what student nowadays does. We get it but, not everything is the correct word to be filling in. Madam then asks who got this song in their phone. Afiq got the song in the phone. Madam plays the song and notice that not every word we fill in the blank is the correct one. We shouldn’t believe Google 100%. You see I’m using modals, in my word (please see the red and bold wordJ). Then Madam told us to change the word in the blank with another than the lyric itself. When we change it, and yes the meaning also changing. Can you detect the different? Here is the picture of the lyric.

As usual Madam also gives us the exercises that we need to do that are related to what we have just learn. But in the end of the class madam told us to create six or more than six word that should have these modals in our word. The word that we are going to write must get to do with our future which is in ten years coming. Now I have my future plan, thank you Madam.

tenses??!

since we where in kindergarten we have learn about tenses, but not many of are actually know how to use it right? what is tenses? tenses is the past tenses, present tenses and many more tenses. i also fail in this tenses things hehehehe. why i'm talking about tenses today? because our Madam Baiti have refresh us about tenses in last week class. i didn't know that are many type of tenses, from the simple one untill the most complicated. (to me it is a little bit complicated). but if we always practices to use the right tenses god willing we can do it. but today we only refresh about tenses because Madam is not feeling well and she got to go earlier today. for next week we will gonna have back up class, definitely next week i will be very busy because i have to attend other subject back up class too, but it will not be an excuse for me for not coming to Madam Baiti class. 

let's improve our own tenses. :)

Lanamifa + Gywa (LG)

       Today we are having our proficiency class. As for today madam Baiti ask us to make a design for project runaway. That design of our need to be wear in Malaysia. The task is we need to make a school uniform for secondary school student in Malaysia. And our beloved madam Baiti will act as Heidi Klum and will judge us based on our presentation and design including creativity. I think madam Baiti is more like Heidi Klum because of madam size; sure it is Madam is thin just like me. Sorry Madam I think I’m being too straight forward.

        Okay let’s talk about us, our team member first it is me which is Min, Laila, Faza, Nana, Geogy and Wawa. Before this we have choose Lanamifa as our group name. Lanamifa stand for Laila (La), Nana (Na), Min (Mi) and Faza (Fa). But since for today class we are having Geogy and Wawa in our group so we just add Lanamifa Gywa. Gy stand for Georgy, while Wa stand for Wawa. Ok Geogy and Wawa welcome to the club. For our design brand we are choose the name LG, short form for Lanamifa Gywa for commercial. Some of our classmate says that our company name sounds like Korea, but I don’t think so. Come on guy just because I like BEAST so much you can’t say that I’m being bias in choosing our company name. It a combination from our team member name okay? Seriously it got nothing to do with Korea. I think I have make it clear here, so please don’t misunderstood.

         Okay let’s go back to our main focus for today, which is our collection for uniform design, for secondary school student in Malaysia. First we have choose Malaysia element to be put in our design but it is a kind cannot be achieve I think, because we are going to design for school uniform. If we are putting all those kind of element, that design of our goanna be like, so miserable for wear to school or the accurate word is awkward. So all of us have decide to design something is simple, catchy and casual. Okay lets me introduce to all of you to our designer, which is Nana for female couture as for male the designer is Wawa.

We have decided to make our designer very simple, catchy and simple, the most importance can be wear able which is meant our collect is suitable to be wear for secondary school student. Here goes our presentation; I think our presentation is a bit disorganized. Because all of us want to talk. I think we need to make a turn who should talk first and next. But big thanks you to Madam Baiti because give us 9 over 10. Thank you MadamJ. Madam comment, on us is that we are being too defense’s when someone or anybody else want to critic on our design in negative way. But trust me our design is very suitable to be wearing in Malaysia weather. The price for this couture is very affordable, RM 35 for female and male full set outfit from head to toe.

happy birthday September Babies

           On 19^th of September is Wawa is celebrating her birthday, Geogy make a surprise for Wawa on her birthday. Thank you Geogy for bring the cake to the class and also celebrating September babies in our class. The cake that Geogy bring is from Secret Recipe one of the most expensive brand cake I think. I’m not really known that in our class that actually there are six of us who are celebrating their birthday in September. The first one is Isya (4^th sept), me (5^th Sept), Sheila (10^th Sept), Wawa (19^th Sept) and Zain (26^th Sept). Ok as for now Isya, Mine, Sheila and Wawa birthday already pass. We just need to wait for Zain birthday for now. Extra information, my mum also born in September 10 same as Sheila date of birthday. Thank you mum because give me an opportunity to be in this world, thanks for born me.   As September almost comes to the end I think. Before September is ending, I would like to wish happy birthday to those who are celebrating their birthday in September.

       I think we need to make a surprise a for Geogy birthday next year. Geogy you just need to wait, I wonder what it is could be. Maybe it got something to do with football I think, because Geogy love football so much. What really matter is not the price item that we are receiving as our present for birthday but the valuable of remembering that you all have given to us. Is that true? I think that is the most important thing. This is my last year as “TEEnagers”, next year I’m going twenty already I can’t really believe that I have been in this earth for twenty year already for next year heheheeee.

      On Wawa birthday we took so many pictures with our classmate and lecture Madam Adlene. Madam Adlene is a very good lecturer; she just not acts as our lecturer but also our sister, mother and friend. Some of the picture is not really clear, as you all already know it not being a year since I’m holding my baby Caca (canon EOS 1100) so the picture that I’m taking is just as someone who at the beginner level (rookie). I just can’t believe that all of us already in semester four already. Time pass very fast and officially this September is our second year as student in Unisel. At first our batch is around 35 people and above (if I’m not mistaken) but now we only have 23 people in our batch. Hope we can still remain until everyone is finishing their diploma. Amin.

The Wall??!

Today is our third class with madam Baiti, but this is our first “official” class. Madam Baiti already asks for our URL for our first assignment which is blog, and this is my blog. I have to admit that my writing is not as good as other maybe that why I don’t have many follower on my other blog. As for today Miss want to talk about poem. Hurmm… interesting. But who are the poetry is it Shakespeare? Or other famous poetry. No it not Shakespeare but are name that I never hear before. A new name I have hear for today Abdul Ghaffar Ibrahim, maybe a poetry from Malaysia I think because he sound like one.  And what is the most interesting is the poem itself; seriously I never see a poem like this. Isn’t it interesting? How to read the poem? This thing come from my mind do I have to rhythm it from the bottom to the upper or “I cannot escape the wall, the wall, the wall, and come with many the wall”. Or “the wall, the wall, the wall, the wall, and the wall I cannot escape”? And the last paragraph do I need to read it like this “the wall llaweht”. So which one I need to read it with? Confusing.  But know it doesn’t matter how we read the poem but the main aim for this poem is the thing that act as the wall to us. The barriers that prevent us from doing the thing we want to do. For example maybe the wall is our self. Because sometimes we are preventing our self from doing the thing we want to do, and maybe our parents can be the wall to us. But in my shoes my parents and family is not my wall.

Because I have a good parents and family that always support me in whatever I want to do, and their are also a good adviser. The bigger Wall I have in my life as teenager is myself because sometimes I afraid to speak up to share my point of view with other. Sometimes i feel like I’m not same with their level.  Maybe this is not my big wall, because my biggest wall as student is money. I’m always having problem with money because I’m not from rich family, and I have to manage my finance really well. Because if I don’t, then I have to trouble my parent to give me money every week and I don’t want to trouble them. My parent already gives me allowance every month and supposed to be, that money is enough for me. But sometimes I over expensive the money their already given to me. 

How i wish I could break down the wall. I really hope when I’m already working so that I can afford myself for the thing I want to have. But I know god really treat their creator fairly. Because even though I’m not as rich as other but I have a really good life. I have a good parent, friend, family and sibling that always by my side when I need them the most. I really appreciate the entire thing I have in my life.

my second profienciency english class

       Today is our second class with Miss Baiti for subject proficiency two. Miss Baiti asks all of us to introduce our self formally. First thing to do is make a name tag of our own. Miss Baiti said that we need to make that name tag really big so that everyone else can see even from far. Second we need to draw three things that can describe our self. As for me first thing I draw is radio. Why must radio? It is because I really sound like radio, never stop to talk unless that radio is out of battery or electric source. That is when I got really tired and out of battery.  

      Second thing that I draw is a little girl. Why must little girl? Is it because I like to play with doll? Of course not. I’m not playing with doll since I already big enough. That little girl describe myself because sometimes I’m not being mature even thought my age already 19, officially in 5 September. Sometimes I really react like a little girl, maybe because I’m too depending on my mother and I’m Momma favorite daughter.

     Last thing that I draw that describe my self is the drawing of six little “orang lidi”. This six little “orang lidi” describe to six guy that I admire too much. That six guy is from one of Korean famous group which is Beast. I admit that not everyone like k-pop like I do. But sincerely speaking I not that big fan of k-pop. If u ask me do u know that guy from bla bla bla group then I just like, who there are? Seriously, I only know Beast team member really well but not other group. In Beast my bias is yang yoseob. Yoseob is the main singer for that group, also the cutest in my heart.

     Before we are ending our class Miss Baiti gives us our first assignment. First assignment we need to have our own blog. We need to write what we learn and experience in Miss Baiti class. I do love blogging and I already have my own blog. But that blog of mine, I always write about k-pop and i rare update that blog. So I’m thinking if I have another blog, can I handle it? Hurm.. I will try my best to handle both of this blog well.
